What are the Minimal Partition, types and sizes needed for Linux (Ubunut
9.04)

I have 2 sata HD, 250Gb and 1Tb.

The 1Tb will be Partitioned as /home for the hole drive.

What is the partitions that i will need for the 250Gb drive to install
linux. 

I don't mind setting up many but what is the manual and best practice.
