[SLUG] /proc and /sys

I'm doing a back up exercise, and google is not helping me.


I've done a copy of the entire root drive using <# rsync -a>  onto a back up 
drive (small because all data is on seperate drives).

To what extent are /proc and /sys recreated by the system as required, and to 
what extent do they need to be backed-up? I hope that question makes sense.
