Ahhhhhhhhh. Now I see! The old
"hide-the-goodies-from-the-missus" trick, huh?
Maybe get a stuffed wombat and hide 'em in there??
;))
I was considering iinet, but in the end the total
savings of nudeDSL and the possible buggerising
around was not enough to convince me.
To take up the VOIP option I ended up with a
mynetfone adapter instead (DECLARATION: I have no
shares and no 'interest' in mynetfone :)) and
that's cut my bill considerably.

Patrick

Hi Sebastian,
Maybe I'm missing your point but I'm not certain why you don't just get a
cordless phone?
Is it that you want to have some form of major level encryption on your
calls?

Hi all,
I came across this
http://nuke.ip-ware.net/Portals/0/Brochures/ip_phone_WS-C.pdf nice
phone while I was searching for a new solution to my internet/phone
setup.
I decided to hook myself up with iinet and a naked DSL package. By now
we still have one of those old yellowish telstra phones, nothing fancy
but it works.
My question now is do I buy a VoIP router and hook my old phone on or
is there another option? I thought about a hand set which connects to
my existing WLAN.

My point is I have a NON VoIP router and want to use VoIP with iiNet
naked DSL package. I thought it might be an option to get such a phone
instead of a VoIP capable router and then hook my old dodgy phone onto
it (or buy a cordless one on top of the new router). And I just wanted
to have the least number of gadgets to hide from my misses!
The encryption is not a problem, I want to keep it up for my WLAN and
not drop it cause of the phone.
But this is all solved by iiNet not providing nacked DSL where I live... :-(
Quote: "Unfortunately your premises is not connected to a telephone
exchange that is part of the iiNetwork which means we are unable to
supply you with Naked DSL." see here
http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1009134 as well.
Cheers
