Sigh, the hard bit is 'can anybody .... that you can go to the local and 
purchase' instead it's all 'I've a card escavated in ... or inherited from my 
grandmother ... :-)

I bought an 'Orinoco Gold' as the absolute guarenteed working only to find 
that the chipset changed and it no longer did.

So AT THIS POINT IN TYME every version of the rt61 I've tried, including 
DWL-G630, works fine (albeit with fiddling eg compile module)
