I currently have RH73 with Python 1.5x

I'm trying to upgrade/install to the current build level 2.4x

various docs tell suggest that I should keep RH's python 1.5x
unchallanged, and, install the 'new' python as an addition, like say
'/usr/bin/python2' or something like that

what are my best option to install the new Python ?
