I've tried (not that there's a great variety).
You'll (probably) never find a control panel with all the features the
average web host needs, but it's probably a good base to start with
and add wanted features to.
The only other free control panel I tried, once upon a time, was
ISPMan. Seems to have gone a long way since, maybe worth a look:
