Do this all the time.  If the filename is .iso then you simplyright
click,  and select write to CD.

There may be a need to reconfigure the whole setup.  It may be
remembering your CD burner and getting confused.  If you insert a blank
disk does it automatically open the write to CD window in nautilus? (If
not confirm options in system - preferences - removable drives and
media.)
