Hi, I've done a FANTASTIC job of upgrading my ibook. I decided to compile some apps (kde-3.22, kernel -2.6.5, some music related apps etc.....) anyway, everything went beautifully wrong - usual things, libraries missing, unresolved dependancies, sound not working. I have thankfully fixed almost all problems however... I have one interesting bug in my setup - for some reason - my system doesn't want to use my hosts file or my resolv.conf file. Host.conf has "order hosts.bind" and "multi on". I tried several kernels (2.4 versions, and 2.6 versions) all exhibit the same symptoms so I assume there must be a configutation file somewhere that I don't know of. I can revert back to my old setup (I actually backed up!) but this should be fixable. Any help/suggestions will be gratefully accepted.
System is running a modified (bastardised) Mandrake ppc-9.1.
Regards, Mehmet
