[SLUG] xftcache wierdness

For some reason xftcache is not able to be run when the xfonts-scalable
package in Debian testing is installed:

    Running update-fonts-scale in Speedo font directory...done.
    
    Running update-fonts-dir in Speedo font directory...done.
    
    Running xftcache in Speedo font directory...Can't scan directory
    "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Speedo"
    
When I try and run xftcache on the directory above (as root) I get the
same error as above.

The directory is readable by root.

Is anyone else having this problem after the recent update in Debian
Testing?
