Hello all,
I have a server connected to the net via Telstra's internet direct
service.
My internet connection is an Alcatel ADSL Modem connected directly to
ethernet port on a Redhat 7.3 server.
Nothing special about the connection, just whipped up the standard ppp0
interface that comes with RedHat.
The allocated Static IP addresses I have aliased onto the NIC servicing
the modem.
The internal network is behind a standard "Morizot" IPTables
configuration.
I am running POSTFIX as the SMTP server.
My problem is when the SMTP server connects to another server, it is
connecting as xxxxxx.lnk.telstra.net and passing the B-end IP address,
not as mail.ausdex.com.au with the static assigned IP address.
So.. with current crop of anti-spamming techniques, the server I am
trying to connect to is failing to resolve the B-end back to the server
name.
Is there any additional service/s I should be running?
thanks
Paul Forrester
