I'd agree. Steer clear of PCI ADSL modems - stick to ethernet ones. 
Also, a tip from a Telstra technician who came out to a place where I 
had installed ADSL and was having connection problems (it wouldn't stay 
connected - in fact would disconnect for hours at a time) - stay away 
from DLink as far as ADSL modems go. Changed to a NetGear and the 
problem went away - nothing to do with the line as originally thought.
