Depends upon your MTA configuration.  Sendmail's default is five days
with a non-delivery warning sent after four hours.  Look for these
directives in your .mc file:

    define(`confTO_QUEUEWARN', `4h')dnl
    define(`confTO_QUEUERETURN', `5d')dnl
