I have used them to recover a fail laptop hd, fast, thought a bit expensive,
but how much is the data worth.

We used Precise Data Recovery Services in Melbourne
http://www.pdrs.com.au to recover a failed Mac HDD.
Service was prompt and cost reasonable.
