[SLUG] X server crash, Mdk 8

Mandrake 8.0 with updates, XF86 4, init 5

My x server crashed and sent the machine back to init 3. Cannot start X.
My system has been stable for about 3 months. I don't know how to save and
send X server error messages.

The last change I made was to install a GUI to Pine called xPine. It uses
a package called xClass. My system worked fine after this until we
rebooted after a Windows session.

This is a real emergency. I am in the middle of writing exams using Lyx!!
