There is little for me to cover that wasn't said so eloquently[*] in Tony
Green's email.
This is a very legitimate problem, with *many* complicated,
non-user-oriented solutions, which has not received a great amount of
interest from distributors for some time. It has a remarkably strong
effect on user behaviour; my co-workers on this list can attest to my
jumping-up-and-down-type-behaviour as they (quite innocently and
unknowingly!) refused to use the backspace or delete keys out of order. I
do *not* believe that qualitative assessment of Free Software is in any
way harmful to its success.
All I can really add is that I take great offence to your email. I would
hope that my words give Linux and Free Software a good name, my actions work
to improve them, and that my interest and amazement be infectious.

lest you all think this email forged.
