[SLUG] PPTP or IPSec Windows Client to Linux Server

Has anyone had any success connecting a Windows client machine to a Linux VPN server using PPTP or a IPSec.  I am also looking for a FREE Windows IPSec client.

I've read some HOWTO's but they don't really go into this all that much.  I want to use an existing windows VPN client or one that is free, secure (lets not talk about PPTP and secure - I know) and able to talk to a Linux VPN server.

SSH is currently being used but does not give me the features that I want to play with.
