This is about not being able to get to the Optus cable modem home pages
from Linux...

The problem looks to be with netscape (4.7x). It seems to be helpfully
deciding that http://www/ is actually shorthand for some other stupid
web site! (http://www.www.cnews/ or something, if I recall correctly.)
I tried turning off smart browsing, but that didn't help. Am I on the
right track, here? If so, does anyone know who to force netscape to
use the URL you enter?
I tried lynx too, though, and it failed; but since I haven't done any
configuration of it, that may not be so strange.
