Hi all,
I am in the process of settingup a backup system on a linux box to backup
all the files setup by users in our AUC system. Typically they are in
/home, /var/auc /var/lib/mysql. At the moment this is simple, I loade the
CPIO module into Webmin, selected the directories to backup, the module
saved it as a cron script, which I have used Webmin again to set it to run
every night. So far so good....and at the moment that will do. The Tape
Drive is a HP Surestore, using the TRAVAN cartridges. This will do up to
4GB uncompressed and 8GB compressed. However eventually their may be up to
40-50GB of data to backup, this is well out of my realm of experience even
in the Windows world. I need to plan ahead and have about 6months before
the 4GB will be exceeded.
Is anyone in this situation and can give me some pointers or reading matter?
The box is a HP45E Netserver with the Surestore 4 drive, which I assume I
would need to change. The OS is RH7.
