I know that at least 2 cards (one agp and one pci) will work with xinerama,
and I know that the matrox g400 dualhead also works with xinerama... so I
speculate that if you got an agp matrox g400 dualhead, and a pci version of
the same, you will be able to do this with ease.
I suspect that 4 separate cards will also work, given that they are fairly
recent and your motherboard isn't shit.

For high perf 2D, you can't beat a matrox card.
