[SLUG] Kmail problem

Evening all,

I was just reading my email in Kmail (Mandrake 8.0) and I went to delete a 
spam email.

When I selected the letter, the lower window (with the data) started leaping 
all about the place and when I tried to delete the email ident in the upper 
window, it also started leaping about the place, so that I couldn't catch it 
to delete it.

I became a little concerned and closed down Kmail and the X windows system 
and rebooted.

When I started it all up again, Kmail had settled down, but I have lost all 
the email in my "in-box", "out box" and "sent mail."  All my other Folders 
are untouched.

Has anyone else come across this before?

Was it merely an abberation, a bug, or could it have been some sort of virus?

What do you reckon?
