[SLUG] Compile error help

Hi all,
I am trying to compile a program (AUC) from the CVS. When I issue the autogen.sh command I get the following, can someone help me decipher what the talk about aclocal.m4 means? Am I right it si something to do with email? This program requires that libxml and imap be compiled in subdirectories of the one with the autogen.sh command in, which I have done without error, although I have only done a 'make slx' on the Imap server and not a 'make install' as it is suggested that this is not needed.
Any help appreciated.

I am going to run ./configure with no arguments - if you wish
to pass any to it, please specify them on the ./autogen.sh command line.
Running gettextize... Ignore non-fatal messages.
sed: can't read aclocal.m4: No such file or directory
You should update your own `aclocal.m4' by adding the necessary
macro packages gettext.m4, lcmessage.m4 and progtest.m4 from
the directory `/usr/share/aclocal'

Now type 'make' to compile auc.
