Forget the OS - you can't go past the US Robotics HST V-Everything
Courier.
I don't care what anyone says - I've got one that is now 6 years old, and
it's been on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week {barring minor outages caused
by moving house etc - never more than a day} for this time, and it's
_never_ missed a beat.
As a long time BBS SYSop and dial up user, I've _never_ had a better
modem. And I've been buying these suckers for a long time.
