Hi All,
This is to let those of you who are interested in developing
Linux applications and using open-source that I have just
uploaded the tender document for the development of a
National Karst Index Database for the Australian
Speleological Federation. You can find it at:
http://www.caves.org.au/tenders/
The ASF is Australias national body for caving and
speleology. The current web site is at
http://rubens.its.unimelb.edu.au/~pgm/asf/ but is in the
process of moving to http//www.caves.org.au
(hosted by Yourweb http://yourweb.com.au/ in Sydney and
running Linux). The ASF is a member of the International
Union of Speleology
(http://rubens.its.unimelb.edu.au/~pgm/uis/index.html) who
have been developing, through their Informatics Commission,
comprehensive standards for cave related databases. This
web-based proposal will be the first web-based
implementation of these standards.
You can email me privately for any further information so we
don't clutter up the SLUG list with a JOB thread. Please
pass this on to any one else that might be interested.
Thanks.
Mike
