Indeed, quite a few USB scanners do a similar thing. "I have one." ;) It's
an AGFA SnapScan 1212U. Still haven't quite managed to get it going under
Linux/SANE, but I will persevere.
I think Jason's asking for something closer to the ide-scsi module, though
for USB devices.
