If I understand you mean people clicking on links at example.com, not people
surfing from the example.com server? It can certainly be done, a lot of
free web space providers will not let you download a tgz etc file directly,
you need to click on a html page on their server first (to force you to
view banner ads).
How you do this I have no idea. It wouldn't be too hard to have a script
that checked referrer headers, but referrer headers can be turned off. Not
sure if there is a way to do this within apache (or another httpd).
