I tried hard not to send this email, because I know how frustrating it is to
receive answers such as this, but given that answers such as this have
opened my eyes to some incredible software before... I thought I'd better
just in case.
You may like to try Postfix instead.
There is a fair amount of documentation, clear and concise, aimed at giving
solutions to problems, not being everything to everyone.

Not that the RedHat FAQ and HOWTO are full of very useful information, and
are only RedHat-specific where they need to be. Which isn't much. ;)
Postfix was designed to be simpler than Sendmail, and whilst I'm sure a few
of the traditionalists on the list will object, for simple purposes (and
some quite complex ones) I can't see why you wouldn't use it.
