[SLUG] rebuild problem

Someone had a lilo.conf description for a dual boot system that went
something like changing:

other=/dev/hdc1
 label=dos

to

other=/dev/hdb1
 label=dos
 table=dev/hdb
 map-drive=0x80
 to=0x81
 map-drive=0x81
 to=0x80

or something like that. The machine can't find hdb1 even though it's
there in /dev. What's missing or what I have I left out.
