[SLUG] Nagle - is X/xterm the culprit?

I had the customer run the telnet client from the CLI instead of from
xterm on 2 workstations that were previously giving trouble, and both were
stable all day.

I don't know why, but it appears to solve the problem.  It's not the
solution I wanted, but I might just have to accept it.
