[SLUG] IPROUTE2

Has anybody succeeded in using iproute2 to forward an internal machine to
the internet on a different external IP adress to the firewalls IP?
I've read the section called "7.29 I need different internal MASQed networks
to exit on different external IP addresses (IPROUTE2)" in the URL
http://www.linux.com/howto/IP-Masquerade-7.html
But not only does it not make sense to me but it also doesn't allow my
entries.
I also followed some other links and had no fun there either...
