It doesn't need to cost that much but right now there is NO competition
in this market. Basically when I looked at it I expected it to cost
around $1000 tops. But the powers that be wanted a solution YESTERDAY,
so I put the proposal up expecting it to laughed at when they saw the
price, instead they saaid fine go ahead. I would guess that they already
knew how much this task was costing them in FTE's per year so they saw
the price, did the sums and went with it.
Also once it setup you don't anyone in the HR dept that knows SQL, HTML
(ie extra dollars) it just runs, producing org charts whenever the HR
system changes.
Anyway that my real life example.
