in the last year or three I bought several USB BT adapters, including a
Linksys Class 1 adapter with a 'cute little antenna' (apparently you can
snip off the cute little antenna and solder a real high gain high
performance antenna);
anyhow, when I compared performance as in 'how far can I be away', I
discovered that el cheapo class 2 adapter matched if not outperformed the
more expensive Linksys/Cisco class 1 adapter. (as well as another premium
priced Class 1 adapter)
the one I got best performance was a class 2 adapter labeled 'bf-140'
(coincidentally, that was the only one I didn't buy, I actually found it
dumped with some 'abandoned it gear')
