Indeed. I've always been mystified where *that party* gets off calling
itself Liberal. The "Liberals" in Canada are true large L libs, prolly
what could be called Labour (Labor? urgh).

I finally found a quote years ago from LJH. Something along the
lines of being a liberal where the economy is concerned, and a
conservative where society is concerned. I myself don't even believe
that assessment. There is no evidence that the Libs in this country
have been forward-thinking with the economy.

Perhaps the best name for LJH and his ilk is the "Unprogressive
Conservatives", adapted from the oxymoronic Canadian party called
the "Progressive Conservatives."
