announced a major give-away of the computer giant's
money. In association with Australian charities and
community groups, Microsoft aims to bridge the
"digital divide" for the elderly and disadvantaged
groups by providing software for community centres
across Australia ? a commitment worth $40 million. The

philanthropy, donating hundreds of millions of his own
money to research some of the world's most pressing
