To recap.
We have an article that discusses, in about as much detail as one can
get in a couple of pages, a brief comparison between a small handful of
distributions. It doesn't pretend to be exhaustive or definitive,
despite seeming to cover a fair few of the points that were raised
yesterday about how to do a thorough test.
But it was an interesting read nonetheless.

The reply to that was, IMHO, inflammatory and pointless. But it did
manage to spawn some discussion on running a larger test. Looks like
fun, I just hope it goes off without any of the extreme bias that seems
to surround Gentoo, both for and against.

But it did prompt more of Jeff's smugly opinionated dickwaving.
Incredibly banal and once again completely unneccessary for our main
list. Only considerably more embarrassing for having come from the SLUG
president.

And now we've descended the predictable path of these sort of
ridiculously trivial flames. There's been lots of swearing. We've had
plenty of vague backstabbing character assassination, accompanied by
"who, me?" expressions of hurt innocence. Anybody dragging themselves
this far would have seen ridiculous amounts of soapbox grandstanding,
where hard facts have been something to wave and point at, instead of
referred to concisely.

So now it's come to the the cliched plea to leave off. Both of you
please grow up and leave it alone, before I put the hose on you.
