Erm... I opened the case of my friends PC, and took a look basically a large
heat sink and fan combo... can see why it's so noisy.

I take it the stealth fan is just to replace the fan over the heatsink - how
do I know that it will provide adequate cooling? I'm also concerned that the
fan may not be mountable on the current heatsink after removal of the old
fan. (Is this a valid concern, or isn't it a worry?)

Eyo also sell other heatsink/fan combos suitable for the PC in question
being:

Taisol socket A CPU cooler CEK739092 $16.50
ThermoEngine Socket A/370 CPU cooler V60-4210B Black $11.40
Vantec Socket 478 Pentium 4 CPU cooler VP4-C7040 Aeroflow $55.00
Vantec Socket A/370 CPU cooler VA4-C7040 Aeroflow $55.00

Does anyone know how relatively noisy these are (by chance)? Would they be
more worthwile (in terms of noise reduction) than replacing just the fan
with the stealth fan?

All help / advise offered appreciated

Thanks...

Mike
