Re: [chat] Quiet cooling fan / casing

2 of the fans in the system are in the PSU, and I've not been brave enough to attempt any swapping yet (Nor has the current noise level gotten to me yet :)). The other four fans are, as I noted, stealths, and feature 3pin power connectors, and come with an adapter that'll convert them to 4pin molex's (ie regular PSU plugs).

As to swapping PSU fans, this is possible in some PSUs only. Most of the higher end models allow this, as far as I'm aware. Once again, though, I haven't attempted it before.

Cheers,

Matt

P.S. I have a P100 that gets away without any active cooling (minus feeble PSU fan)! Are you sure you need it? The best way to reduce noise is not to make it in the first place :)

Are these separate fans from the power supply or can you swap them in
the power supply?

I need one for my main machine and for a p100 as well. They are both
next to the bedroom with an open door.
