I watched the show. I also thought even though these people may have been 
bad drivers it was a total setup. "Set up a tight dead end. Put people in a 
Volvo which tends to be a rather long/wide vehicle. Ask them to do a 
three-point turn." In my opinion backing out of the dead end would have been 
the right thing to do in such circumstance but then again I never drove a 
Volvo so I may be wrong. 

It is also funny how they asked people to exit the carpark ALL AT ONES with 
screaming passengers in the back. My friends' kids are annoyingly loud in 
the car but if they came to this level I'd stop turn the engine off and 
don't leave until it is quiet.
