Actually, most (some) people on this list would set their defult
reply preference, Reply-To: to the list to avoid getting two copies
of replies, one addressed to them, the other to the list. It's a
rather common choice by subscribers to mailing lists, especially perr-
lists where a reply is archived and may be useful in the future to
others.

While it may be optional to subscribe, considering this is a public
mailing list with many lurkers, it is good form to reply to the list.
Who is to say that the answer I give to a question would not be
useful to someone else?
If you would rather replies go directly to you, you really ought to
set the reply-to header appropriately. It should hardly be the
responsibility of those on the list to ensure you get a reply to your
question, they are, after all, answering your question without
payment.
