Yeah, I know. Debian's development process is pure Gold, but I believe they
have *seriously* fscked up in putting everything in /usr. If I want
multiple versions of a package installed (OpenLDAP 1->2 is a damn good first
example, from practical experience) I've got to seriously bugger around with
diversions (ick, ick, ick, and I *still* don't know how they work, really,
and the don't solve the damn problem anyway) or do what I did and manually
extract the archives, put them in suitable places (/opt is my friend) and
screw with the startup scripts. Ick.
