Sacrilege! Damper should be cooked in the coals directly. If it burns,
then the coals are too hot.
If you are working with kids, skewer a long sausage over a stick and let
them bake it in the heat. When fully cooked it comes off easy, Then fill
tube with jam or honey and they can eat it. Dunk kid in river to clean
{:-).
