Problem is I try and boot from a floppy to re-flash the bios and the floppy
drive just constantly whirrs away.
The bios needs to be working for you to be able to boot from floppy. In
case of some motherboards, you can boot a good machine, remove the "good"
chip and replace with the "bad" chip, then flash the bios to fix it. This
works since the chip is only needed when the bios first loads, or when you
do an update. Or you can have it fixed by a computer shop (which may do
the same thing) or send away to the mb manufacturer.
