The licencing of Solaris in no way conforms to anybody's idea of Free
Software (I'd mention http://www.debian.org/social_contract#guidelines
if debian wasn't also being mindlessly flamed this evening), therefore
it is proprietary.

I think what Jeff meant to say is that GNOME will be replacing CDE as
the default Solaris desktop.
