Yeah, at IT2001 / Comdex / Networld / Interopt / Interact (yeah, that's
one event) I installed a stock standard Red Hat 7.1 install on an Athlon
MP using the Tyan motherboard, because AMD asked me too :)
Absolutely no problems.

: P.S. Anyone heard of any problems running dual Athlons with Linux
(or...
gasp... Evilware ??)/??
IIRC, there was some mention of an IO APIC issue a while ago (AMD
implements
it differently to Intel), though I think that was fixed a few kernel
releases ago.
Have a browse through this,
http://www.linuxjournal.com/articles/style/0014.html (Ultimate Linux Box
2001), it deals with building a dual athlon based system.
I'm planning to start purchasing parts for a dual athlon based system
sometime in the near future, also.
Cheers,
Matt
