Or is it really the expression of the fact that it's a dumbshit idea to
rename the root user that jangled your committee-man's chain?
I've seen similar questions - asked about _another OS_ than the one we
supposedly are here to discuss - asked in this forum and get flamed a
shitload worse than that.
Where do you draw the line, Conrad? Do we answer questions about AIX?
HPUX? IRIX? They're all just variants of *nix, aren't they? What about NT?
It's got some basis of *nix in its kernel, way back when. OS/2? MSDOS?

That was a hell of a lot nicer than it woulda been if I'da just come out
of reading ASR. He made a mistake. Fine. I answered his question - and
educated him to the fact that slug is *not* the place to ask about Solaris
problems.
