I am interested to know what people thought the Alphas might be worth?
Yes, I know it is a question of what I am prepared to pay, but now that
some people have had them for a while, they might have some comments to
share.

For a P100, My initial thinking $100 each MAX at my doorstep. I paid
$500 for one at the markets 4 years ago (800Mb hard disk, 32Mb Ram), so
these would now be 7years + old and getting into mysterious failure
time. But $100 Aus for 32Mb of Ram is expensive and we are talking $200
for 64Mb just to do something. I think the P100 take a maximum of three
Simms. So, as something with performance, I think I would be better
buying a Cyrix III 500 +mobo + 64Mb of Ram for about $350.

As offered, the P100 is a nice little boxen. IDE internal boot disk, NCR
SCSI port, AUI, coax or UTP networking, 2 PCMCIA slots, etc. 1 Internal
PCI slot, or second hard disk. They would be okay for a firewall boxen,
run a capture card, etc, i.e. no X.

There is still the problem with stands. I've asked about shipping. He
says max weight (single boxen packed) is 10lbs (pounds for you young
people {:-). At this stage, I am only tempted to offer $US20 each for a
P100 and maybe take five. (firewall, dns, WWW server, mail server, video
capture cards), but shipping needs to be considered.

Was there a problem with customs duty last time?
