Should this policy specifically cover mailing lists? Just a brainstorm suggestion, but how about a code of conduct that covers everything SLUG-related (including blog entries syndicated at planet.slug.org.au, physical meetings, etc.)? It doesn't have to be detailed or draconian. I would imagine that most of it would be common sense. An example to work from would be the Ubuntu Code of Conduct: http://www.ubuntu.com/community/conduct -- "I don't know who in the firefox org was the gatekeeper on features and UI, but I'd like to meet him/her/them (seriously). They did a great job of keeping the user experience focused on the core tasks." - Scott Berkun, program manager at Microsoft Corporation 1994-2003, 2005-09-12
