Re: [activities] [announce-owner@xxxxxxxxxxx: announce post from geoffrey@xxxxxxxxxx requires approval]

Hmmm, If I have this correctly, geoff's announcing that the LPIC201 courses
are going to run this semester... he's posted me, and several others thru'
"moodle" (gonzo.moodle.org.au)

The reason this is news is that as far as we knew up until he's announced
it, these courses were *not* looking like going ahead. I guess he's found
some willing volunteers and some extra time somewhere :-)

Now I think he meant for this to go as an announcement, but in keeping with
convention, this actual email ought to be posted in another mailing list.

Geoffrey should be informed which is the appropriate one for future ref -
just in case he hasn't updated his servers yet or whatever) and perhaps we
should organise for a link or some sort of web page that has the details and
links to the course details on SLUG's website section where this sort of
stuff should be (under linux links in Sydney perhaps or whatever).

There is still a "comittee" mailing list, but now there's an activities
list this is the sort of thing that falls across boundaries, so to speak.

It's kind of an "activity", but it isn't SLUG, yet we should put details of
it somewhere for promoting these courses, given they're about the only ones
in Sydney TAFE colleges that I'm aware of.

But we have announce as well. perhaps this is where the issue should be
clarified - I mean, I don't really follow it myself. I'm not sure why it
even came up to be approved? Wasnt "activities" meant to be open?

Any way, Happy New Year everyone, best wishes to the LCA attendees, have a
safe trip!
